Mararlunga sofa and chair set by Vico Magistretti for Cassina

The iconic Maralunga Armchair in its fully restored glory.

Designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina in the early 70s , these pieces are characterized by their unique shape and adjustable back rests which allow the user two distinct ways of displaying and utilizing the pieces.

The integrity of the leather on these pieces was in fairly decent shape when they arrived at our shop, with the exception of the color coat and clear top coat. These pieces were staged in a space where the windows lacked proper UV protection, over time they succumbed to sunlight which faded the color, thus the pieces took on a dull, flat, dry appearance.

The team at TLC was able to match the original color using the underside of one of the seating area cushions as our color sample. We then prepared the entire surface area of the pieces and gently stripped away the old finish. Our team then installed the new black color coat and applied a new clear top coat to lock in the color. Now this stunning set can be enjoyed for years to come!
